Tis the season to be jolly fala la-la laaaa la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

So it looks like i'm about to break a promise, I said in my last post that id bring you my thoughts and opinions of on of the greatest trilogies EVER Back To The Future. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut as the christmas season is upon us and ever much present everyday of this month i thought id chat about the most obvious and quite clearly a classic and must own for this time of year and that is Home Alone.
I could of picked many a christmas classic to chat about but this film really sets the season off with a festive pop.
I got the Double box set from play.com for a whole £4 BARGAIN!!!!!!!!! I honestly couldn't believe what a great deal it was but i think it may now cost you a whole £5 if you want to get into the festive spirit properly.
As i told many a person about my great find, the main response was why didn't you get the box set with all 3 films?
And my reply was because the 3rd film was a big pile of poo and i didn't want to tarnish my DVD collection and christmas with it.
The film is currently playing in the background as i type away, occasionally looking up to here great lines such as "this is my house I have to defend it", "this is it dont get scared now" and watching Macaulay Culkin Setting up his traps and fortress to stop the burglars.
The scenes when he starts to defend his house are just brilliant as a kid i remember thinking if I was ever to defend my house from two comedy thieves that is exactly how I would do so, making the stairs icey, heating up the door handles, the nail through the foot, the falling iron to the head and obviously the good old micro machines under the window. It is just brilliant and I will continue to watch it every christmas for as long as I live.
Still of Daniel Stern in Home AloneHarry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) AKA the wet bandits put in brilliant performances they play the roles perfectly with comedy and serious moments which really make them perfect crap robbers.
I love Harrys mumblings fasham rasham basa rasa masam lasma grrrr and talking to himself its just brilliant.
There is one moment which i love more than any in this film though and thats the tarantula on the face followed by the crowbar to the stomach from Marv on Harry lol, then its the Zipline scene which again as a kid had me fully captivated and made me want a tree house and a zip wire so fricken much id do anything nowdays for them let alone when i was younger.
Looking at this film it really isn't your standard, stereotypical christmas themed film, you can probably watch this film all year round without people casting judgement which makes it even better in my eyes.
what does give it that extra special christmas twang in my eyes is the backing music its just a simple classical band rift ( i believe the word is rift sorry if its not but im not all that great on music terminology but it sounds about right).
It kinda sounds like do do doooo doo do dooooooo do. I understand that this does not do it any justice but if you know the film you should remember the track that is constantly played in the background it's just magical.
I've been thinking what the hell happened to Macaulay Culkin? The first film i saw him in was Uncle Buck at the age of 9 he nearly upstages John Candy and then it was Home Alone 1. I'm Struggling to believe that he was only 10 when he started filming for Home Alone he must be one of hollywoods greatest ever stars, In home alone he is funnily enough alone in the film for 90% of the time and if its bad acting then its a bad film in my eyes. But you've gotta give it to him his acting is just faultless he was born to act, I actually cant say a bad word about this child star at this point.
His next Major Project Was My Girl then Home Alone 2 and the Good Son (he was apparently paid 5 million for this role). All of these being massive hits and all coming out in a very short space of time from 1989 - 1993 he had 5 box office smashes under his belt, the boy could do no wrong!!!!
He had also made the massive music video with Michael Jackson Black or White, Looking at it this kid is a absolute Hollywood Phenomenon for his age the 90's really made Culkin some serious cash.

Richie Ri¢h (1994)

$8,000,000
Getting Even with Dad (1994)$8,000,000
The Good Son (1993)$1,500,000
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)$4,500,000
My Girl (1991)$1,000,000
Home Alone (1990)$100,000
Uncle Buck (1989)$40,000

So Thats $22million by the time he turns 13.......................................MONIEZZZZZZZ
We very rarely here much from him these days as he is now 30 and is most likely still minted I really dont blame him at all and plus it probably wouldn't be the same seeing him as a grown man the role in The Good Son was strange enough, he is a very talanted actor but i doubt that he is able to still play a 10 year old boy. But Macaulay if your reading this please give it a go or do another Home Alone but your the dad that would be quite nice.

Back on the topic of christmas, by far my favorite time of year. lots of booze, good food. friends and presents its all very errrrrrm festive I really do love putting on a good christmas jumper and bumbling down to the pub it really does make me smile for a whole month and it feels like nothing will ever make me feel any other way about this time of year.
Another great thing about this time of year is that there are so many fantastic christmas films and christmas TV specials so as i really enjoy making lists and the 12 days of christmas are so very nearly upon us i thought it may just be the time to give you a list of 12 must watch christmas films( in no particular order)

  1. Home Alone 1 and 2
  2. White Christmas
  3. Its a Wonderful Life
  4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
  5. Jingle All The Way
  6. Elf
  7. The Muppets Christmas Carol
  8. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
  9. Love Actually
  10. Santa Clause
  11. Jack Frost
  12. Miracle on 34th Street

Now your probably disagreeing with some of my choices right now but these are my opinions and i'm sure that you have some classics that you cant go without over the festive period. These are the ones that put me in real good spirits for this time of the year.
Its getting quite late as i had a after work snooze im still not all that tired so i'm going to grab myself a drink and then hit the hay.

Have a lovely December all.

I LOVE THE 60's

So its Tuesday 23rd 00.12am, I've had quite a busy week or so having a new haircut looking for a second job and trying to figure out when it will be possible for me to actually go traveling, i say traveling i mean leaving the country and just returning when i feel i've seen enough of what i want to see. Possibly if i sold my DVD collection i could actually pay for a months worth venturing just off there sale, buuuuuuuuuuuuut i'd rather not get rid.
What else has happened ooooooh yer the biggest outrage and disgrace to the world hapened last sunday around 9pm with the moron which is Simon Cowell keeping that skank Katie in over Aiden on Xfactor, honestly Cowell WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING??????????????? and dont even get me started on Wagner. I planned never to watch the show again but unfortunately i caved in to the power that Mr Cowell has on the nation and crumbled, watch both shows but slagging it off the whole way through.
Anyway I've just got in from a boys night of xbox, the gadget show and cordial. The mass amounts of intellectual conversations that we have had tonight (mainly how hot pollyanna from the gadget show really is) has kept me wide awake, so i thought it was about time I that I supplied you all with another film update.

Right now i'm tucking into a toasted buttered baguette and a ice cold beer in hand with the film that captured my imagination as a child. BACK TO THE FUTURE 2,  this film also has possibly the greatest quote form any film i have ever seen....."roads? where were going we don't need roads". Every time I hear it I smile from ear to ear.
I'm afraid this is not the film I will be reporting about but do not worry i will bring to you a Back to the Future triple feature in my next blog.
The reason for this is because last weekend i had abit of a moment with a film watching it over and over again. I became totally captivated and won over by "The Boat That Rocked".
I've always been a massive fan of music from the 60's and 70's but this film really made me fall in love with the era completely. So much so i have downloaded the soundtrack and it has been played non stop all week. Here we go this is the soundtrack for the film, as its about music i thought you'd best see what your going to be listening too. I've highlighted some of my personal gems but in all honesty its all golden and well worth buying.

  1. Duffy - Stay With Me Baby
  2. The Kinks - All Day And All Of The Night
  3. The Turtles - Elenore
  4. Beach Boys - Wouldn't It Be Nice
  5. John Fred And Playboys - Judy In Disguise
  6. Martha Reeves & The Vandellas - Dancing In The Street
  7. Smokey Robinson - Ooh Baby Baby
  8. Herb Alpert - This Guy's In Love
  9. Tommy James - Crimson & Clover
  10. Jeff Beck - Hi Ho Silver Lining
  11. The Who - I Can See For Miles
  12. The Troggs - With A Girl Like You
  13. Boxtops - Letter
  14. The Hollies - I'm Alive
  15. Chris Andrews - Yesterday Man
  16. Paul Jones - I've Been A Bad Bad Boy
  17. Tremeloes - Silence Is Golden
  18. Skeeter Davis - End Of The World
 Disc 2
  1. The Who - My Generation
  2. Cream - I Feel Free
  3. Jimi Hendrix - The Wind Cries Mary
  4. Procul Harem - A Whiter Shade Of Pale
  5. Otis Redding - These Arms Of Mine
  6. Junior Walker - Cleo's Mood
  7. Supremes - The Happening
  8. The Turtles - She'd Rather Be With Me
  9. Easybeats - Friday On My Mind
  10. The Bystanders - 98.6
  11. The Kinks - Sunny Afternoon
  12. Cat Stevens - Father And Son
  13. Moody Blues - Knights In White Satin
  14. Dusty Springfield - You Don't Have To Say You Love Me
  15. Lorraine Ellison - Stay With Me
  16. The McCoys - Hang On Sloopy
  17. The Isley Brothers - This Old Heart Of Mine
  18. David Bowie - Let's Dance

This feel good film really is for everyone, i know that alot of people my age wont watch this because of the era and the music that its about but people please watch it you will be fully captivated by one of the greatest eras ever.
What is this film actually about then I hear you saying,  it's a comedy in which the romance takes place between the young people of the '60s and pop music. It's about a band of rogue DJs working for a pirate radio station in the middle of the North Sea that's populated by an eclectic crew of rock and roll DJs that captivated Britain, playing the music that defined a generation and standing up to a government that preferred classical and jazz.

I started thinking after watching this film for the umpteenth time why do i want to live in this time period so much?
I really think that everything really everything about just makes me want to see what it was like. The attitude of people, the love for music, the fashion, the lifestyle, the world cup success and the women ooooooooooooooooooooooooh the women they really are incredible from 1966. They are generally incredible curvy, a little crazy and with the perfect amount of make up on none of this 10cm of foundation that covers your white t-shirt in tan, seriously girls it's not cool it took me ages to find a nice t-shirt and you ruin it with your face, i;m not saying stop i'm just saying calm it down for the sake of saving on washing atleast.

Another thing that i'd really like to speak to a hippy about is the really odd attitude and open conversations about drugs and sex. I'd like to know did that really happen or is it all put on for hollywood?
I'm pretty sure thats what the attitude was like but it would be nice to sit down get high listen to the rolling stones and just listen to someone talk about what it was really like. So if anyone is out there that is a hippy or knows what it was like in the 60's i will by the weed and bring the music all you have to do is turn up with your stories and beard. This is a open invitation to anyone who would also like to join.
I really might try and organize this it sounds like it would be ace.

This film has some incredible talent in it with Nick Frost (sean of the dead), Rhys Ifans (notting hill), Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Caribbean). It really did surprise me how well Rhys Ifans plays a doped up DJ this being the second time he's done so as he plays the modern day version in "its all gone pete tonge".

This film really is brilliant i'm trying to pick faults with it but it will make you smile from ear to ear. Really if you have a single mind for music you really should broaden your horizons and fall in love with rock and roll for the first time.
After watching this it lead me to watch Almost Famous and Anvil both top quality films and must haves in any DVD collection. I know that i'm really brown nosing this film now but please for yourself WATCH IT you need to have this in your life. Also on the extras of the DVD there is a brilliant deleted scene with TV's big man James Corden and everybody love James Corden.

I'm currently sitting here listening to the sound of the smiths, I love rock and roll so much I know this sounds so cliche and all in all a little gay, but they really dont make music like this anymore some of this stuff takes me to a whole different place. This is the same for Bowie, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan and many many more really make me feel like anything is possible. This film really gives credit to such a amazing time for music and people.

I'm yet to re read this blog but i already feel its a little scrappy and possibly a little shit so i do apologize if you read this and think what the hell is this kid on about please make sure you let me know what you think.

Stay pretty beautiful people.

A kick ass night in with the boys

Sunday nights may just be one of my favorite nights of the week a general rule is that i have a beverage or two and hang out with friends, playing COD and watching films. If i was a stonner then i feel that i would be the king of the stonners on a Sunday.

This particular sunday was quite special as a good friend of mine returned from traveling so after a pub lunch with friends and a good old catch up me and christopher headed to TESCOS to pick up supplies, and ooooooooooooooooooooh did i get supplies oreo's and chocolate fudge frijj!!!!!!!!!!! apparently you can now microwave the milkshake to make it into a hot chocolate this is something i found after consuming two bottles damn it!
Right from Tesco to the 'Fungalow'. A place where dreams are made and crushed all in one night, for those who are unaware of what a fungalow is it is a "fun" bungalow thus making it a Fungalow, you thought Pat Sharp had a fun house this place takes it too a whole new level but beware if you enter nudity is most probable.

So after a few games of COD we discussed over the thousands of films my friend who we shall call Sames Jannard has to offer.
What a collection you must be thinking but it is not all good he is the downloading devil but for one night and one night only I will lower my standards and watch a illegal film. As i sat there grumpy faced flicking through this huge catalogue of films pondering over the odd one Inglorious Basterds pops up and get as big shout from the two gentleman buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut i carry on and i see the flick that has chosen us for the night their it is KICK ASS :)

I loved this film at the cinema it made me want to realizer all of those childhood fantasies of being batman and generally trying it on with Barbie and Cindy. Its such a great film i love everything about it so this next bit is going to be me brown nosing this film to its full extent sorry for this.
I just love it every kid thought at some point in their life they could be the defender of their tiny town. The only problem is that i would never have had the balls or the time on my hands to do such a thing.

The best thing about Kick Ass is his costume a green and yellow wet suit, marigolds and some cat boots he just looks cracking. He looks like if i attempted to get suited up as a superhero thats what id come up with, non of this Iron Man crap its all about CAT boots and metal sticks.
Onto the CAT boots if you have ever tried to run in these, you would defo not be picking these as your footwear to be fighting crime in. Just walking in them is like having The Titanic strapped to your legs.

Sooooooooooo hello Nicholas Cage one of the greatest actors of all time id happily let you switch on leicesters christmas lights. This really is a great performance bravo good sir bravo.

This story has a great love story in it as Kick ass pretending to be gay just to get close/touch his prey.
honestly i speak for all men out their if the girl is hot enough id go that far. You may now be thinking thats pathetic and degrading yourself just for a hotty, but if she really is katy Perry or Fearne Cotton hot i would hesitate to get my Louis Spence grove on. This doesnt make me gay as it for a girl :)
Now the big question is, is Kick Ass's girl that hot and after much thinking i'm going with No he does seem to sell himself a little short as he is a superhero after all. Heres a picture to let you make your own opinion. Here she is boys and girls and boy was i wrong WOW WOW WOW she looks so different! could this be my new celebrity obsession????

Another brilliant moment in this film is the BIIIIIIIIIIIG black body guard and the bazooka oh how he loves that bazooka.
its hilarious, i'm not going to drop any quotes in because of my complexion and tone of voice just doesn't match his.

To sum this film up if you like some matrix like action great comedy an original storyline and apparently a gorgeous girl. This film is truly brilliant, as cliche as it is Kick Ass truly is Kick Ass. Well done Jonathan Ross's wife.

one thing i did find out that the lead in the film Aaron Johnson 19, is engaged and expecting a baby with Artist Sam Taylor-Wood???????????
this has taken me by surprise its just a little bizarre as when he is 35 his child will be 16 and she will be on the verge of her 60th birthday? Hollywood is bonkers.

Other films you can find mr Johnson in is "Going Somewhere Boy" when he plays John Lennon very much worth a watch.

So as the film came to a close with explosions going off everywhere, Mr Cooper pipes up from the corner...... Erm i thought it would be funnier, i normally accept people opinions on films but this time he is WRONG, WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG. Even though people assumed this film is going to be hilarious, it shouldnt be expected to be that its got some great comedy in it but it really is a top quality action film cant you see how much he's enjoying it?

right i'm going to wrap this up as i've probably taken up enough of your time tonight, but its been emotional. Just before i go has anyone seen Donkey Punch? as i purchased it for a whole £2 yes big spending and wow did i instantly understand why it was this price. If you are unsure what a donkey punch is please google it but i do apologize.

Goodnight all thatnkyou for your time happy Movember i hope you all are still non shaving this month to help a bro grow a mo.

much love and stay safe.

Last night.

As i got into bed after a nice hot shower and feeling somewhat relaxed i popped on the DUUUUUVDUH, really quite excited to start watching a film and then having to write about my thoughts and opinions on it :).
So i lay there trying so hard to concentrate, scoffing on tootie frooties and sipping on coke i even watch the adverts. Which are not quite as exciting as the ones in the cinema so much so that i cant remember them.

Anyway anyway anyway ill give you the basic idea of the film before i ramble on some more.
Steve Carrell plays a single father of three girls, whilst away at a family get together he meets a woman who turns out to be his brothers piece.
dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SqaWEBSd4g

honestly thats the jist and whoever put laugh out loud funny on the box
really must have been watching a different film. because i found it quite sad and very very very chick flicky I don't know if it was the sugar overdose from the coke or the E numbers from the sweets but i really didn't get haha funny from it.
This does not mean i did not enjoy it i found it good yet easy to watch annnnnnnnnnnnd it sent me to sleep as i dont remember seeing the end, wooooops.
I can remember thinking that it had a few actors in it, that when they come on screen you go ooooooooooooooooooooooooh i know her thats ross' ex's lesbian lover from friends and hey thats martin craine, fraisers dad from fraiser! so i found that a particular highlight.
Another thing is that it really made me want to go to the sea at winter, dress up warm and cosy take a trip, anyone out there fancy it?
i really dont have that much to talk about for it because all in all it was just ok. Would i watch it again probs cause its very easy to watch.

Today has changed my life forever with the introduction of random.org!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you can randomize your own list so from now on i'll be choosing my nightly films via this method and letting fait/electronics choose my viewings :)

All my love

Hello and thankyou for having me.

Hellllllllllllllllllllo blog world, welcome and hello to my little piece of the social network.
i've tried to do this before and bottled it at the last minute so this time my quite pointless thoughts on films and media are about to be published to the world.......... At this point i apologize for what is probably going to be word upon word and picture upon picture of useless crap :).

So now its only fair that you've taken the time to have a peep or even if you have just stumbled across me, i give you a little insight into myself.
right so here we go im a 23 year old youth (using the word youth helps me keep my youth) and i've got a serious addiction to films so as I LOVE DVDS i thought its right i started to write about all these flicks that i watch. I'm gonna mention this again im not reviewing these films just casting my thoughts across them.

Right now as im trying to decide what film to watch tonight i feel like a very gay slightly nervous sarah jessica parker. This is not a good feeling for a straight 23 year old male. I'm really looking forward to getting these blogs up and running so i hope you'll all be nice :).

what to watch what to watch what to watch. I've been thinking quite hard over a crafty plate of spag bol and glass off squash, how to start this off? Whether to watch a classic or to start off with a massive BANG well more like a moderate clap, or just something i feel like watching. After much more deliberation i've decided for the later and i'm going to watch 'DAN in real life'.

This film is still in its wrapper so not only am i watching a film i've never seen i also get to rip it out of the packet, double win for me :).
I'm a big Steve Carell fan so this should be good fun no matter what and apparently from the cover it says its laugh out loud funny and thats always a bonus.
I've just had a quick glance and this is as the blurb describes it as a feel good comedy, so its not going to be full balls, nudity and comedy violence such as 40 year old virgin and anchorman but im sure Carrell wont disappoint.

saying this ive just looked at the directors (peter hedges) back catalogue and the only recognizable title for me was 'about a boy' and the rest also sound very chick flicky.
Right now im feeling like Sarah Jessica Parker again................. Oh god.
So ive just ripped the packaging to pieces, which made me smile alot. Honestly the littlest things can sometimes be the best. As this is a very special occasion and it is the first time my evening with a dvd has extra meaning i thought it was only right that i went out and treated myself.....

YESSSSSS that is festive coke and tooty frooties :) so tonight even has snacks right now i'm very very very excited for such a eventful evening, i'm not going to lie i wanted crisps and dip but tescos had sold out of humus.......NOT COOL.

anyway i hope this film lives upto such a built up night because i dont think ill ever go out and get snacks again, so tonight truly is a memorable occasion. Wish me luck and i shall be in contact shortly just to let you know how i got on.

Stay beautiful internet people.

all my love
